Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This advanced technology permits your dentist to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide unparalleled convenience, value, and accuracy to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take extremely precise images of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. Third, your dentist will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling device which develops the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for added strength and esthetics, your dentist will position it on your tooth.

What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to develop our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns need 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a wonderfully restored tooth.

You can prevent the trouble and potential risks associated with ill-fitting short-term crowns.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are a number of methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will whiten teeth significantly. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and convenient lightening process. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
