Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like a lot of dental restorations, veneers may someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique normally involves two appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
