At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single visit, usually in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling device.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely carved to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time then we tidy up!

We need to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

The Topic For Today Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. Once this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really agonizing. Signs that the pulp has actually become infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the individual is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for bring back a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
