Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last multiple years, providing you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect method normally involves two appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
