One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be beginning to fear the time you will have to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a great time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we integrate cutting edge technology and procedures to supply our clients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who need to get dental crowns, we are really happy to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is typically made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely tarnished tooth that needs to be brought back to its initial, attractive appearance.

Typically getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and then have you return to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice clients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take images which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and get rid of any need to send impressions or pictures to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a short-term crown, because our long-term crown will be immediately available to you.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal treatment. When this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any issue until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
