Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain situations where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive ways instead of through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
