Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This advanced technology enables your dental practitioner to take precise pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide exceptional convenience, value, and accuracy to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three basic steps. First, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take extremely precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dentist will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which produces the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will place it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable strength, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Conventional crowns require two office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a perfectly restored tooth.

You can avoid the inconvenience and potential risks related to uncomfortable temporary crowns.

The Conversation For Today Is:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a severely damaged joint.
