Same Day Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are taking place in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It allows us to create crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have required two visits. The first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. Throughout the second appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be finished in just one visit. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling device that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a temporary as well as a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be extremely important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth dramatically. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of approaches: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient whitening process. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients love this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
