Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to most dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last years, providing you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique generally involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the very first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
