Same Day Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are taking place in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It allows us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have needed two appointments. The first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. Throughout the 2nd visit, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be completed in just one appointment. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling machine that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a temporary in addition to a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be very important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
