What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are a number of benefits to having treatment with same day crowns over standard, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is performed in a single visit, you just need to visit the dental practitioner one time, take one day away from your routine to have the procedure, instead of the normal 2 or three appointments.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has actually been damaged or become stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means rather than through a more pricey dental procedure.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a lustrous finish as a last step.
