There are different types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one simply carries on as usual. Typically implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.
It is very important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social circumstances, and even your self-confidence.
Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper full denture will almost always feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to drastically improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we regularly suggest utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
