There are lots of advantages of single day crowns over standard crown technology.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no need for a temporary crown, which eliminates significant possible discomfort and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one appointment means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No conventional impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Visual appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this brand-new innovation restores your teeth to their natural durability, beauty, and function and carefully match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the standard technique of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain stunning for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and innovation can also be used for fillings. Because they are constructed of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury including silver fillings and stronger because of bonding innovation.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with many dental restorations, veneers may one day require replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct method generally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method typically involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
