Can Same Day Crowns Benefit Me?

With this brand-new technology it enables dental practitioners to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With this, we can produce natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers right here in our office while you unwind. Now, there is no longer a need to make numerous trips to the dental practitioner's office to be measured and fitted with temporary restorations - you can take pleasure in a dazzling, natural looking, and resilient option for your missing or broken teeth today.

Initially, your dental practitioner will meet with you to discuss the details of the treatment. Throughout the procedure, the dental practitioner will put a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special camera to take a picture of your tooth.

Using the new software, the photo serves as a map to develop your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to create your restoration piece out of ceramic.

Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth stronger and more lovely - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the high-grade ceramic product works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Due to the fact that gum disease is generally painless, you may not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of germs that is continuously forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that may signal an issue:

  • gums that bleed easily.

  • red, swollen, tender gums.

  • gums that have retreated from the teeth.

  • persistent foul breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any difference in the fit of partial dentures.

There are many aspects that increase the risk of developing gum disease including smoking cigarettes, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is important to visit your dentist if you believe you have gum disease because the quicker you treat it the better.

The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums may become red, swollen and bleed quickly. At this stage, the disease is still reversible and can usually be eliminated by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by daily flossing and brushing.

Advanced periodontal disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can result in the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it may become more serious in time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and start moving around in your mouth. It typically gets worse slowly, however there can be periods of fast progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly destructive type of periodontal disease that happens in patients who are otherwise healthy. Typical features consist of rapid loss of bone and tissue and may happen in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research in between systemic diseases and periodontal diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some research studies indicate that serious gum disease might be related to a number of other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Routine dental checkups and periodontal examinations are very important. The treatment methods that most dental professionals diagnose will rely on the kind of disease and how far the condition has progressed. Excellent dental care in your home is vital to help keep periodontal disease from becoming more serious or recurring.
