Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a very thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might someday need replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect method usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
