At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this innovation for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to change broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, typically in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and after that we clean up!

We have to ensure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a full scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are generally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable ways instead of through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
