The Benefits Of Getting Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental visit.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which imitates the appearance of your natural teeth thus making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which is true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same resilience as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new technology is more precise compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only disadvantage of a single visit crown is that not all clients are candidates for this procedure. Clients with extensive tooth damage that has actually reached the gum line requires a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown because they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
