A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental procedure that is typically required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are relatively bothersome to get, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great choice due to the fact that they are more convenient and result in less discomfort:

A Lot Less Painful

A traditional crown can result in discomfort for a few reasons, but one of the greatest sources of discomfort and pain is a result of needing to wear a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth until your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not very strong, which means that they can break or come loose really quickly.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger quite a bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves beneath the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather painful and begin to bleed, which also opens the path for potential infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will provide you with a long-term crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the need for a short-term crown, thus enabling you to prevent all of the discomfort and pain.

Makes Sense

A conventional crown is not a very hassle-free procedure to have performed, mainly since it generally takes a minimum of 2 appointments to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it changed. This can be a huge problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking time off in the middle of a busy work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is enabled since many dentists will purchase the devices to make their own crowns, instead of needing to purchase crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the hassle of needing to potentially invest weeks and multiple appointments to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and inquire about the benefits provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a practical and reasonably pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

Today's Topic Is About:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable methods instead of through a more costly dental procedure.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the positioning of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
