Why Choose Single Visit Crowns?

There are many benefits of single day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one appointment, saving you considerable time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a short-term crown, which eliminates significant possible discomfort and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No standard impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Visual appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this brand-new technology restores your teeth to their natural durability, beauty, and function and carefully match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the standard method of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay lovely for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and innovation can also be used for fillings. Since they are constructed of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury consisting of silver fillings and stronger because of bonding innovation.

If you have any more concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please do not hesitate to contact our office today. We will address any concerns you have and you can make an appointment to consult with our dentist personally.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. As soon as this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even deteriorate the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be very uncomfortable. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected might consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any issue until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
