At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single visit, typically in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling device.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time and after that we tidy up!

We need to ensure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

Today's Conversation Has To Do With:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be used in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable ways instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
