Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you may be beginning to fear the time you will need to spend at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate cutting edge innovations and procedures to supply our clients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely delighted to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a badly discolored tooth that needs to be brought back to its original, attractive look.

Normally getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, supply you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and after that have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and eliminate any need to send impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, removing the need to return for a second visit.

You also will not need to get a temporary crown, given that our long-term crown will be instantly available to you.

If you would like to meet our dentist to learn more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our practice.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific circumstances where a tooth has actually been damaged or ended up being stained. These are generally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable means instead of through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
