What Are Single Visit Dental Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new innovation that a dental expert can economically restore broken teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dental practitioner uses a unique camera to take an precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to create the restoration. Then CAM takes over and instantly produces the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process takes about one hour.

What Does This Innovation Mean For A Patient?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer have to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard 2nd appointment has actually been eliminated. This brand-new technology has over 10 years of clinical research and documents to support it. The restorations have actually been proven precise, safe and efficient.

The Conversation For Today Is:

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct method generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
