Same day crowns are an sophisticated dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, broken, or cracked teeth. This technology can produce complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than lab restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most useful feature of receiving a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one appointment. In addition to the advantage of a one visit restoration, there is no unpleasant impression material to bite on or a short-term crown to wear.

The procedure for placement of a same day crown restoration is very basic. The primary step is to get rid of all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital image. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This permits the digital camera to take an acceptable image. When this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will allow the dental practitioner to develop the restoration right in front of you.

As soon as the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually see this process if you would like. When the restoration is finished milling, the dentist will place the restoration on your tooth.

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth significantly. Because tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three various strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free whitening procedure. The appointment is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients love this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
