Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential function in our practice. This remarkable innovation in chair side dentistry provides us the tools to develop, produce, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The conventional technique to a crown or inlay and onlay typically needed a return visit after the client waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was manufactured in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a unique camera to take an precise picture of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and automatically mills the restoration while the client waits. At last, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole process takes about one hour, and there are no frustrating temporaries or 2nd visit needed!

Proven Technology

With two decades of medical research study and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have shown to be a an efficient, safe and convenient innovation that we are delighted to offer to our clients.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a terribly damaged joint.
