What Are Same Day Crowns?

The same day crown is a innovation for fixing damaged teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single visit to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the high-grade ceramic product is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will answer any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crown Restorations

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is typically constructed of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and traditional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants provide a smile that looks extremely natural. Surgically positioned below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and work as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability since they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also find the secure fit is more comfortable than conventional replacements. Prospects for dental implants must have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What Does A Dental Implant Involve?

A dental implant may be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dentist then works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not need the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth wear out, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has numerous advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the client who, as soon as the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they don't need to be taken out all the time.
