What Is So Special About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and often an unpleasant procedure that can take numerous weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill lovely tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision entering our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, durable, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dentist will go over the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any questions you may have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Dental Dentures

There are different types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is analyzed and a decision is made about which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and look return and one simply carries on as usual. Often implants can be used to further stabilize the dentures.

It is very important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social circumstances, as well as your self-confidence.

A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper complete denture will almost always feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to dramatically improve the fit of a lower full denture, we often recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially improve comfort. Often, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for numerous years.
