Same Day Dental Crowns - A Smart Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It allows us to develop crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have needed 2 visits. The very first visit consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the second visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be completed in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling device that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a short-term along with a 2nd appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Porcelain Teeth Veneers

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a gorgeous and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to most dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely long lasting and will last multiple years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy usually involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy generally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
