Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be needing a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will have to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we provide a fantastic time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate advanced innovations and procedures to provide our patients with the very best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are really pleased to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help reinforce the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a badly tarnished tooth that has to be brought back to its original, attractive appearance.

Normally getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will need to take impressions, provide you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and after that have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and remove any need to send impressions or images to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, because our permanent crown will be immediately available to you.

If you wish to consult with our dentist to get more information about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our office.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will lighten teeth significantly. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous methods: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three various strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and practical bleaching process. The appointment is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
