One Visit Crowns

Crowns have long been an efficient restorative dentistry option for dentists to benefit from, but the standard crown process takes two to three visits to finish.

At our practice, though, our dental practitioners and our team can restore broken down teeth in just a single visit with same-day crowns. Same day crowns use sophisticated technology making the crown planning procedure much easier, while the same day crown machine actually mills restorations itself using the details we've already collected to create the personalized restoration you need.

The milling process takes about an hour to finish and can be done while you rest comfortably in our office.

Our restorative dentistry team is ready to invigorate your smile and better your lifestyle. Using any of these restorative dentistry services alone or in combination with each other or another service, we are ready to assist you to accomplish maximum dental health. Please make an appointment to our office today.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a terribly damaged joint.
