Today's Topic Will Be About:

Dental Dentures

There are various types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is examined and a determination is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and look return and one just carries on as usual. Often implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is very important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your self-esteem in social situations, and even your self-esteem.

A Couple Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the exact same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper full denture will usually feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to dramatically improve the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has been in use for a number of years.
