Temporary crowns and second visits for crowns are now typically unnecessary thanks to the same day crown technology. We offer this exciting one-visit crown innovation in our office, adding greater convenience to the procedure of getting a crown. The waiting time between your procedure and when you get your long-term crown is eliminated.

The same day crown technology is an instrument that permits ceramic restorations (veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns) to be performed in one visit instead of two. The computer coordinates with a digital camera permitting the dentist to make digital impressions without the annoyance of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes over and mills your customized crown immediately so that we can cement your brand-new crown that very same day. The outcomes we see are incredible. With the same day crowns, the fit, strength, and aesthetics of the ceramic restorations are excellent.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it requires root canal treatment. Once this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely agonizing. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any issue until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. When the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
