HOW ARE DENTAL CROWNS MADE
ORANGE PENNSYLVANIA

Updated On Saturday, November 17, 2018 02:47:40 AM

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to replace damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everyone enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We have to make certain that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are multiple ways to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Since tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical bleaching procedure. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
