What Is So Special About Single Visit Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and typically an uncomfortable procedure that can take a number of weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which enables us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision coming into our dental office to get a crown and walking out the same day with a strong, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more details!

The Single Visit Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the details of the procedure and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you might have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are numerous methods to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Since tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of approaches: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is suggested for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free bleaching procedure. The appointment is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
