Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to develop crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have required 2 appointments. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the 2nd appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire procedure can be finished in just one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling device that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to wear a temporary in addition to a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be very important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Today Were Discussing:

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and attractive smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with a lot of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct method generally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is usually referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care instructions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
