Our practice loves new innovations, especially when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our patients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a terrific brand-new technology where stunning all porcelain crowns are created within 2 hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to have the crown built. During this time the patient would have to have a temporary plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our devices allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within 2 hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There's no need to return once more to have the single visit crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once again! No more shot needles!

Our office likes same day crowns because it is made of beautiful material and also very long lasting.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our office a call.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually made out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures might not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some individuals, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants connect to the jawbone and serve as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability since they connect to your bone, a procedure called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also discover the secure fit is more comfy than traditional replacements. Candidates for dental implants have to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What's Involved In Getting A Dental Implant?

A dental implant may be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is securely embeded in the mouth, the dentist then works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not need the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has a number of advantages. First, there is no modification period to acclimatize the patient who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no pain or trouble in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
