Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential role in our practice. This amazing innovation in chair side dentistry offers us the tools to develop, produce, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The traditional approach to a crown or inlay and onlay frequently required a return visit after the client waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about 2 weeks while the restoration was produced in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology removes the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns use a unique camera to take an accurate picture of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to develop the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and immediately mills the restoration while the client waits. At last, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole process takes about one hour, and there are no bothersome temporaries or second visit required!

Proven Technology

With two decades of clinical research study and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have shown to be a an effective, safe and practical innovation that we are delighted to provide to our patients.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most clients, there are numerous ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical bleaching procedure. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
