What Are Single Visit Crowns?

The single visit crown is a technology for fixing broken teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single visit to the dental practitioner's office. It makes your teeth stronger and more lovely, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the state-of-the-art ceramic product is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

More About The Single Visit Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dentist will go over the details of the procedure and your dentist will answer any questions you may have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
