Obtain A Perfect Smile With Same Day Crowns

Same Day Crowns address visual needs, bring back tooth function, and boost the general health of your mouth. In cases where teeth have big broken down fillings, a crown can secure and maintain the rest of the natural tooth.

To boost your smile, a metal-free, tooth-colored same day crown can also replace an older metal or porcelain crown. Following root canal therapy, a crown is usually put over the remaining tooth structure to preserve visual and tooth function.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling because new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are two types of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both kinds of fillings, however find that a number of their patients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mixture of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer great resilience and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to withstand moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this might lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, frequently allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling process and they are subject to stain and staining with time. The life span of a white filling can depend considerably on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also frequently utilized to fix front teeth that have actually broken or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is typically much less expensive than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
