Three Reasons To Get Same Day Crowns

If you've ever had a crown placed over one of your teeth previously, you know that the procedure typically involves at least 2 visits to the dentist and the positioning of a temporary crown prior to you getting your permanent one.

However, there is a brand-new procedure for installing crowns that can enable you to obtain a permanent crown the same day. As the name suggests, same day crown machines permits crowns to be developed right there close to the dental practitioner's chair.

Have a look at a few reasons same day crowns might be right for you.

Natural Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made entirely of ceramic, getting rid of the requirement for metal. While metal crowns are perfectly functional and safe, they're frequently thought as less attractive than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable alternative, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown machines can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Money And Time

Every hour you invest at the dental practitioner's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or responsibility.

Needing to return to the dental practitioner's office several times for one treatment may mean getting time off at work approved for more than one day, getting a babysitter for more than one day, or filling your car with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a brief time-span.

Any way you take a look at it, multiple dental appointments cost you cash, in addition to exactly what you're spending on the dental procedure. Getting everything performed in one appointment saves time, and time is cash.

Conserves More Natural Teeth

The machine used in the same day crown treatment takes a digital scan of your tooth and after that is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the specific requirements supplied by the digital scan.

This allows the dentist to maintain as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest option for your jaw.

This also enables the dentist to use the machine to produce inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you need more coverage than a filling will offer but less than a full crown.

Thanks to the more precise digital measurements provided by the same day crown device, teeth that might once have needed a full crown might now be candidates for just a partial crown.

If you know that one of your cracked teeth will probably require a crown, be sure to make a visit with our dental practitioners today.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain situations where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are normally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive ways rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
