  • No need to get a short-term crown

  • Digitally matches the color of your tooth

What Is A Dental Crown?

A crown is a cap made to cover a tooth with the purpose of restoring it to its natural shapes and size or to improve its appearance. To get ready for the crown, dentists drill to get rid of the decayed section as well as form the tooth to get ready for the crown for that portion which lies around and above the gum line.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today Were Discussing:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
