If You Want A Dental Crown This Is The Best Option

Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many individuals have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown only takes one visit!

The Traditional Two Visit Way

At the first visit, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory so that your long-term crown can be made. Lots of people dislike the goopy impression materials that can make them gag which takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be positioned on top of it. Then you receive a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over until your permanent crown shows up from the laboratory. Then later, you need to go back to the dentist, have the short-term crown taken out and the brand-new crown put on your tooth

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Topic For Today Is:

Ultra-Sonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and removing plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling typically uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and after that polished.
