Dental crowns are used to reinforce a tooth, and return it to its initial function. Dental crowns are made to color-match the adjacent teeth, so they can not be identified by others as being anything less than a long-term tooth. With a dental crown, you have the ability to eat anything you like, and your clear speech will never ever be interrupted. In fact, your dental crown is so natural feeling, you will not even know it exists in your mouth.

Same day crowns are a very exciting offering of our practice. We are able to have you with a stunning new smile in just one day. Our office has cutting edge equipment that enables dental practitioners to offer you with crowns in just a little portion of the time that was required before.

CAD/CAM innovation is exactly what makes this exciting advancement possible. The acronym stands for computer-aided design/computed-aided manufacturing. We have the ability to use this innovation in our system. This system is used to fix teeth, start to finish, in one day. This will save you from an additional appointment to our practice, a week or two later. We're sure you have far more amazing things you would rather do with your time than to sit in our dentist's chair any longer than you have to!

Using our new system, we scan the prepared tooth in your mouth or from an impression, then send out the information to our in-office milling station. The restoration is computer-milled to the exact specifications to fit your mouth in minutes. Once the crown is crated, we position it in your mouth, and color, polish and restore your new tooth to a beautiful and natural-looking appeal. This technology can also be used for same-day veneers or inlays.

If you require a crown in a hurry, for an upcoming social or company event, this procedure may undoubtedly be perfect for you. If you are interested in learning more about this procedure, call us today for an appointment.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its initial sizes and shape. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure giving the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other types of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are utilized to cover a tooth that is likely to break, or is too broken down to be recovered with a filling. They are most frequently done after root canal treatments, or when a big filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that has to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a large cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Remember that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the body. Teeth undergo incredible pressures. Crowns sit over the weakened tooth, providing strength and securing the tooth against breakage. A broken or cracked tooth is a much more serious matter and much more hard to treat. Crowns prevent this, in addition to making for a nice smile.

It takes 2 visits to restore a tooth with a crown. In the very first visit any decay is removed from the tooth and it is formed to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in fabricating a crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic product, or gold. A short-term crown is used throughout this time. In the 2nd visit this temporary crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed then cemented in place.

Exactly What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown procedure usually needs two appointments. Your first appointment will consist of taking impressions that will be used to produce your custom crown. A mold will also be used to create a temporary crown which will remain on your tooth for approximately two weeks until your brand-new crown is made by a dental laboratory.

While the tooth is numb, the dental practitioner will prepare the tooth by eliminating any decay and shaping the surface area to properly fit the crown. Once these details are achieved, your temporary crown will be positioned with temporary cement and your bite will be examined to ensure you are biting correctly.

At your second visit your short-term crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your brand-new crown will be thoroughly positioned to guarantee the spacing and bite are accurate.

You will be given care directions and encouraged to have regular dental check ups to inspect your crown. As always, proper oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
