If You Require A Crown This Is The Best Choice

Getting a crown has actually long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many people have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown just takes one visit!

The Traditional Two-Visit Way

At the first appointment, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory so that your long-term crown can be made. Many people dislike the goopy impression products that can make them gag and that takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be placed on top of it. Then you receive a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over till your long-term crown shows up from the lab. Then later, you have to go back in to the dentist, have the temporary crown removed and the new crown positioned on your tooth

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
