Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays a vital role in our practice. This amazing development in chair side dentistry provides us the tools to create, produce, and position crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The standard technique to a crown or inlay and onlay often required a return appointment after the client waited (with a temporary restoration in the tooth) for about 2 weeks while the restoration was produced in a different lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a special camera to take an accurate image of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and automatically mills the restoration while the patient waits. At last, the brand-new restoration is bonded in place.

The entire process takes about one hour, and there are no frustrating temporaries or second appointment required!

Proven Technology

With two decades of medical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have actually shown to be a an efficient, safe and practical technology that we are delighted to provide to our clients.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the physician to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
