Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be beginning to dread the time you will need to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a terrific time-saving option for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we incorporate state-of-the-art technology and treatments to provide our clients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who need to get dental crowns, we are very happy to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help reinforce the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a significantly tarnished tooth that needs to be brought back to its initial, appealing look.

Usually getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will have to take impressions, provide you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and after that have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and get rid of any need to send out impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a short-term crown, because our long-term crown will be instantly available to you.

If you would like to meet our dentist to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of many clients, there are multiple ways to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and hassle-free lightening process. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment due to the fact that it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
