If You Need A Dental Crown This Is Probably The Best Option

Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many people have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky patients, getting a crown only takes one appointment!

The Old Fashion 2 Visit Way

At the very first appointment, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory so that your permanent crown can be made. Many people do not like the goopy impression products that can make them gag and that takes up to 5 minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be placed on top of it. Then you receive a temporary crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over until your permanent crown shows up from the laboratory. Then later, you need to go back to the dentist, have the temporary crown removed and the brand-new crown positioned on your tooth

Today's Subject Will Be:

Ultra Sonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, eliminating microbes and getting rid of plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and after that polished.
