What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple benefits to having treatment with same day crowns over traditional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is performed in a single visit, you just have to visit the dentist once, take one day from your life to have the treatment, instead of the normal 2 or three appointments.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, because the entire procedure can be performed within an hour you only need to have one injection.

  • Your dental practitioner remains in complete control of the final result, given that the crown or inlay are designed and produced from start to finish by your dentist, they have overall control over how it will fit and look.

  • No temporary restorations, which can typically fall off between visits if they are not taken care of properly.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has been broken or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive ways rather than through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
