Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, split, or chipped teeth. This technology can produce full crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown machine crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made from compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are stronger than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of getting a same day crown restoration is that it is accomplished in one visit. In addition to the benefit of a one appointment restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression material to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The treatment for placement of a same day crown restoration is very basic. The primary step is to remove all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then shape the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This allows the digital camera to take an appropriate image. As soon as this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will allow the dentist to design the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually watch this process if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dental practitioner will position the restoration on your tooth.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are numerous ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will whiten teeth significantly. Since tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is suggested for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical lightening process. The appointment is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
