What Are Single Day Crowns?

It is a innovation for fixing broken teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single appointment at our office. It makes your teeth tougher and more lovely - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the top-quality ceramic material and is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the procedure and your dentist will address any concerns you may have regarding the procedure or porcelain crowns in general.

Your dentist will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the new exclusive software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate shape and function.

Then, it will use a diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Today's Subject Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. As soon as this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even weaken the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has actually become infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no symptoms appear and the person is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
