Why Choose Single Visit Crowns?

It is extremely important for a individual to have a strong and healthy set of teeth. Nevertheless, there are some cases where dental cavity development is inevitable. It is frequently triggered by the person's diet, habits and hygiene. Cavities that are not managed early might cause substantial damage to the tooth's enamel which may need a dental crown to restore its natural look and function.

A dental crown is a cap shaped like a tooth which is used to cover the tooth that has actually undergone substantial damage triggered by dental cavities. Getting it typically needs 2 dental appointments. During the first appointment, your damaged tooth is cleaned and the decayed part is eliminated. The dentist will then get the impression of your tooth that needed the crown and will send it to a dental laboratory where traditional dental crowns were made. It could be made from a metal, ceramic or porcelain material. Only during the 2nd appointment, your custom-fitted dental crown is cemented to your affected tooth.

With the advancement in dental technology, the process of getting and wearing a dental crown has been made readily offered. Dentists use the new technology in making inlays/onlays, crowns and veneers. After your broken tooth is prepared, they will use an intraoral camera that will take the picture of your affected tooth and have it uploaded to a computer. It will use a computer-aided design in taking the digital impression of your teeth and the impression is transmitted to the computer-aided manufacturing device which will mill a color-matched ceramic block to your same day crowns. Choosing a same day crown over a standard dental crown has its advantages and disadvantages.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of many clients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of methods: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 various strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and convenient bleaching process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
