The Advantages Of Using Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It allows you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which imitates the appearance of your natural teeth hence making it visually pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which is true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same sturdiness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this new innovation is more precise compared with standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a single visit crown is that not all clients are candidates for this procedure. Patients with extensive tooth damage that has actually reached the gum line needs a standard crown instead of a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown due to the fact that they are diligently made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this kind of treatment or you have further questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal treatment. When this happens, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms appear and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
