Same day crowns
In the past, getting dental crowns meant coming into the dental practitioner's office at least two times. The very first check-up included getting an impression of your tooth and a temporary crown. Then, a couple of weeks later, a second check-up allowed for the short-term crown to be eliminated and a new permanent crown to be positioned on your tooth. We use the latest innovation making dental work more convenient for you and your busy schedule, with same day crowns.

Today's Topic Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient lightening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so easy and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
