Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays a crucial role in our practice. This remarkable innovation in chair side dentistry provides us the tools to design, produce, and position crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The conventional technique to a crown or inlay and onlay often needed a return appointment after the client waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was manufactured in a different laboratory. Same day crown CAD/CAM innovation eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a unique camera to take an precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD (computer-aided design) software to create the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and automatically mills the restoration while the patient waits. At last, the brand-new restoration is bonded in place.

The entire process takes about one hour, and there are no bothersome temporaries or 2nd appointment required!

Proven Technology

With twenty years of medical research study and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have actually shown to be a an reliable, safe and practical technology that we are delighted to offer to our clients.

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a severely damaged joint.
