What Are Single Visit Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new innovation that a dental professional can economically restore broken teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dentist uses a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to develop the restoration. Then CAM takes over and instantly produces the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process takes about one hour.

Exactly What Does This Innovation Mean For A Client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer need to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard 2nd appointment has been eliminated. This new technology has over 10 years of scientific research and documentation to support it. The restorations have been proven precise, safe and efficient.

A Gorgeous Smile!

Today's Discussion Is About:

UltraSonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for the majority of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and getting rid of plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help maintain optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can remove tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and after that polished.
